Cutting Edge is a 32 ft. Marinette Fishermen with up to date equipment and electronics, it
has a large roomy cabin and walk in head. The aft deck has plenty room for six people to fish
and we can also fish the bow in calmer weather. Cutting Edge is set up for our preferred
method of drift fishing, where the angler has the pole in his hand, works the lure, sets the hook
and lands his fish. She is also set up for trolling where multiple lines are set, the forward motion
of the boat works the lures and sets the hook and the angler reels in the catch.
April and May we`ll be jigging hair jigs, drifting over fish making short casts and
popping the lure on the bottom to aggravate the fish into a reaction bite. This is a very
effective method of fishing during springtime and many limits are caught. The fish in
this picture was taken using this method.
|Late May, June, July and August
drift fishing will be producing limits by
casting lures using a count down
method while drifting over fish.
Selecting the right weight, color and
count are keys to success. The fish
Capt Jim is holding was caught
casting and drifting. Trolling will also
produce many limits through out the
summer, boat speed, depth and color
of the lure is key to producing fish
like the one the young lady to the left
|We also fish for Perch from June through the end of October,
September and October being prime time for limits of jumbo
Perch. Perch spreaders, crappie rigs and single hooks tipped
with emerald shiners fished near the bottom will produce fish.
